Nice Day

Today, the sun and the northerly wind warmed my skin. Evanston is this you?
I sat by the lake. Its waters hypnotically lapped back and forth. Screw trying to read bio. The pages of my textbook were blowing in my face. To my side, joggers ran half-naked, bronze skin and taut muscles. Others were playing catch with a baseball, football, frisbee, doesn’t matter. Somebody was blasting a shitty remix of John Denver’s Take Me Home. Two friends I know are holding hands in the distance.
I stare at the emerald horizon.
I don’t give a damn about anything right now.
I hope this lasts forever.
